Senior Platform Engineer

We're establishing a design center in Cairo and are on the lookout for talented software engineers, architects, data scientists/engineers, and platform engieers to join us in realizing our vision

Responsible for design, build, and operate the cloud-native platform powering machine learning and data pipelines that process several million data points every day. 

1. Expert in architecting and operating self-managed Kubernetes clusters on dedicated infrastructure. 
2. Extensive experience managing Kubernetes platforms using GitOps with Argo CD and CI/CD with GitHub Actions, treating infrastructure as code and managing every aspect of the platform declaratively. You have deep expertise in designing secure platforms, implementing least-privilege identity and access management, network policies, secret management, and secure software supply chains.
3. Build highly available and observable platforms with comprehensive monitoring, logging, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery strategies. 
4. Our client's platform runs on dedicated servers hosted on Hetzner as a self-managed Kubernetes cluster and dedicated GPU infrastructure for self-hosted machine learning model serving.
5. Strong engineering mindset and maintain exceptionally high standards for technical documentation.

Consider well-written Runbooks, ADRs, and RFDs to be essential engineering artifacts.

 Experience designing and operating Kubernetes platforms on managed cloud services such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Amazon EKS, or Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) (especially Azure) complements your expertise. 

Requirment:- 

• You have at least 5 years of professional experience designing, building, and operating production-grade Kubernetes platforms.

 • You have deep expertise in the Kubernetes ecosystem, including Rancher, Docker, Helm, Kustomize, and Istio. 

• You have strong networking and security expertise, including modern Container Network Interfaces (CNIs), Network Policies, certificate management, least-privilege identity and access management, and just-in-time (JIT) access. 

• You have experience designing, implementing, and regularly validating backup and disaster recovery strategies, including scheduled backups to object storage and rehearsed restore procedures. 

• You have deep experience implementing GitOps and CI/CD workflows using Argo CD and GitHub Actions. 

• You have extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or OpenTofu. 

• You are proficient in automation and tooling development using Go and/or Bash. 

• You have extensive experience building observability platforms with Prometheus and Grafana, including metrics, dashboards, alerting, Talent Jobs and operational monitoring. 

•Experience with GPU telemetry and Langfuse is highly desirable.

 • You have experience operating databases on Kubernetes, including PostgreSQL and Qdrant, both as self-managed deployments and fully managed cloud services. 

• Most of our backend services are implemented in Python (FastAPI). Experience building, containerizing, and deploying Python services is desirable. 

• You have experience operating self-managed GPU workloads and machine learning serving infrastructure using technologies such as KServe, Knative, KEDA, and vLLM. Experience with any of these technologies is highly desirable. 

• Experience with modern data orchestration platforms such as Apache Airflow and Kubeflow Pipelines (KFP) is highly desirable. • Experience with at least one major public cloud platform (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform) is highly desirable.

 • You are fluent in English. German language skills are a plus.
